Rover 75 CD Changer Adapter 6 (Sony)

Rover CD changer adapter enabling a seamless connection of selected Sony CD changers with the following Rover radios giving you the option to retain your factory installed radio, while avoiding the excess costs of buying a CD changer from your car dealer. This CD changer adapter together with your Sony CD changer will produce superior sounding results.

Compatible Radios
Rover Symphony radios: with a square (8-pin) Mini ISO CD changer socket at the rear. 

The square (8-pin) Mini ISO CD Changer socket may be part of a longer socket made up of 3 individual sockets. You may find a green, yellow and blue connector pushed into this one long socket. The blue connector is where the CD changer connector fits. If this blue connector is present, remove it to establish if it is a blank (empty) connector that can be replaced with the CD changer connector.

Check your radio handbook for this model name or check at the rear of your radio for this socket this or alternatively email us your radio model number (e.g XYD101043PUY) found on the sticker on the radio inner casing to ensure compatibility.

What is a CD Changer Adapter?
CD Changer adapters are small electronic control units or converter leads (dependent upon vehicle and radio) and their approximate sizes are (L80mm x H35mm x D55mm) for the box type or (L160mm to L400mm) for the lead type. CD changer adapters are a simple way of connecting and controlling an aftermarket CD changer (such as Alpine, Kenwood, Sony) from your Factory installed radio.

Simplified, your factory radio talks a different electronic language to the aftermarket CD changer. So the CD changer adapter simply translates this so both components can communicate and work in synergy.

So if you already have a Sony CD changer using this adapter is perfect for a low cost upgrade producing outstanding sounding results.

CD Changer Adapter Installation
Sony CD Changer adapters install at the rear of your radio or onto the pre-wired CD lead (if applicable) for your particular car make and model and the CD Changer connects to the other side of the adapter by push-fit connection.

Adapter installation to the car wiring is either by push-fit connection (in the majority of cars) or alternatively by connecting 2 wires from a choice of 3 sources (earth, 12v or 12v switched). To aid you with installation comprehensive installation instructions are included.


Sony CD Changer Installation
CD Changer installation is generally far easier than you would expect. Sony CD Changers can mount in the boot, glove box or even under a seat and offer multi-angle mounting for installation flexibility. (Compare this CD changers dimensions with your available space)

Connection is via the included 5M robust data lead by push-fit connection to one side of the CD Changer adapter, and this lead is simply tucked under your interior plastic trim out of site. The other side of the adapter connects to the car wiring as detailed above.

The CD changer is mounted using the included brackets and screws, or for easy installation FREE Adhesive Velcro is available if required (request this via email after ordering). Full installation instructions are supplied with each changer. Modern suspension technology allows skip free play-back from your home burned CD-Rs and CD-RWs as well as original CDs.
